MVS Integrated Operating Rooms in the new building of the Tula Regional Perinatal Center

The building of the center was built taking into account the most modern approaches to patient routing. 6 floors combine under one roof all the necessary departments to provide comprehensive high-tech medical care for mothers and babies, including complex pathological and emergency cases.

The new perinatal center will keep the name of its first legendary head and talented doctor Vera Sergeevna Gumilyovskaya. The traditions of professional dedication, the highest quality of work, kindness and responsiveness to patients laid down by her will be continued and reinforced by technological innovations.

In the Tula Perinatal Center, a mobile telemedicine station MVS Teleport will be at the service of doctors — a mobile multifunctional workstation for organizing broadcasts and conferences, storing and processing information, working with the Hospital Platform software, including access to the video archive of operations, access to the Hospital Platform software.

There are 2 MVS Integrated Operating Rooms in the maternity ward on the 4th floor of the center.

What does this mean and what opportunities do doctors and patients have?

Externally, the system looks like 6 monitors combined into a single system: 2 information boards in the operating room, one in the corridor, a nurse’s workplace, a main control monitor, an engineering systems control monitor and an overview monitor for video and other information output.

The main control monitor, located on the ceiling console, allows you to control video streams, engineering systems, record operations on all connected video sources of medical equipment, and video conferencing with colleagues.

A large overview monitor on which up to 4 video sources can be displayed simultaneously: images from the endoscope camera, CT and MRI images, ultrasound data, external video camera, patient monitor data, etc. will allow, for example, residents to fully monitor the progress of surgery or childbirth without entering the sterile area of the operating table.

Doctors will be able to control the climate in the operating room and configure engineering systems centrally from a single control panel built into the wall panel, which will significantly save time on preparing for surgery. For example, while in the operating room, you can turn on the “do not enter” sign or the timer on the electronic board in the corridor.

The information board mounted in the wall panels in the operating room shows the time synchronized with the clock of all devices of the integrated operating room, and contains timers with audio signals that the doctor adjusts on the main control monitor.

With the help of specialized software “Hospital Platform”, doctors will be able to plan and monitor the loading of operating rooms, create a single centralized archive of operations in the perinatal center.

The nurse’s workstation, as part of the MVS Integrated Operating Room, is a full-fledged workplace with access to HIS, PACS, watching videos from the archive of operations, access to all services of the “Hospital Platform”.

One of the most important functions of the MVS integrated operating room, telemedicine, will allow Tula doctors to establish video conferencing with colleagues from federal centers to hold consultations at the operating table. The possibilities of the perinatal center as a training ground for Tula medical students will also expand: it will be possible to organize online video broadcasts of operations from integrated operating rooms.

On the eve of the opening of the new building of the perinatal center, MVS employees conducted training for doctors and mid-level medical workers to work with the new equipment.

MVS company thanks the management of the Tula Regional Perinatal Center for their trust!
