On August 8 and 9, MVS met a delegation from Kazakhstan headed by Nusupova Asem Bekova, Deputy Mayor of Almaty, as well as representatives of the partner company in the Republic of Kazakhstan - KazMedProekt.
One of the central points of the business program was a visit to the MVS office in St. Petersburg with a demonstration of the capabilities of a smart operating room in the company‘s showroom.
During the visit, the guests also had an excursion to St. Petersburg State Medical Institution “St. Luke‘s Clinical Hospital“ (St. Luke‘s CH), during which high-tech MVS operating rooms were demonstrated in the Department of general surgery, as well as in the city center for endoscopic urology and new technologies of St. Petersburg, created on the basis of the urological department of St. Luke’s Clinical Hospital.
Andrey Sergeevich Ivanov, Head of the Surgical Department at St. Luke’s Clinical Hospital, spoke about the possibilities of smart operating rooms and his experience working in them. In the MVS digital operating room, doctors have access to: the ability to control engineering systems and integrated medical equipment, video recording of operations using all connected video sources, video conferences that allow them to demonstrate live the progress of the operation and get advice from another specialist.
In the final part of the tour, the guests personally met with the chief physician of St. Luke’s Clinical Hospital, head of the City Center for Endoscopic Urology and New Technologies, MD, Honored Doctor of Russia Sergey Valeryevich Popov and shared their impressions of visiting smart operating rooms.
On August 9, the delegation had an excursion to the NT Cyclone plant, during which the guests got acquainted with how modern cleanroom production is organized.
The delegation from Kazakhstan also included Dosmailov Birzhan Serikbekovich, chief physician of the SME on the REM (the state municipal enterprise on the right of economic management) at the Municipal Clinical Hospital 4, chief traumatologist of Almaty; Gulnar Kaztayevna Nurlanova, director of the SME on the REM “Center for Perinatology and Pediatric Cardiac Surgery”, chief obstetrician-gynecologist of Almaty; Nursultan Izbagambetov, Director GKP at the Almaty Cancer Center, chief oncologist of Almaty.

The healthcare sector of Almaty, the largest megalopolis in Kazakhstan, is in dire need of modernisation. Demographic growth, migration, and a high concentration of the elderly population place a huge demand on high-quality infrastructure for both polyclinics and hospitals. Therefore, we are very interested in attracting new technologies for urban emergency services, in particular, operating rooms. And we were very glad to get acquainted with the experience of our neighbors in the assembly and production of cleanroom complexes and smart operating rooms. It is encouraging that these solutions are focused not only on equipping and infrastructural comfort for doctors, but also, above all, changing the decision-making processes of doctors on many issues of the treatment process towards the most effective care. The interactive component allows doctors to analyze the course of operations, record and even organize live online courses for novice doctors or students. This is an invaluable practice that certainly serves the benefit of patients' health. Therefore, Almaty is extremely interested in this experience and we hope that with the help of our Russian colleagues we will implement projects aimed at improving the quality of work of the city's hospital sector
