SamSMU (Samara State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation), together with the St. Petersburg company Medical Visual Systems (MVS), opened Russia's first digital operating room in Samara. The project was implemented on the basis of SamSMU clinics.
The platform of the Russian developer Medical Visual Systems (MVS Platform, included in the Register of Russian Software) is used as a management and integration platform in the digital operating room.
For the first time, the Russian AUTOPLAN surgical navigation system, as well as the intraoperative imaging and preoperative planning system developed by the Institute of Innovative Development of SamSMU, are integrated into it.
In the digital operating room, doctors also have access to the ability to control engineering systems and integrated medical equipment, video recording of operations from all connected video sources, video streaming anywhere in the world, access to medical archives and video materials, and other functions.
So far, it is planned to perform operations in two profiles in the digital operating room: otorhinolaryngology and maxillofacial surgery. In the future, the number of profiles is expected to be gradually expanded.

The opening of the clinic was attended by the rector of SamSMU, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation Alexander Kolsanov, Minister of Health of the Samara region Armen Benyan, chief doctors of several Samara medical institutions, employees of SamSMU Clinics.
