Medgital Holographic surgical Navigation system as part of the MVS Smart Operating Room

At the MVS exposition, as part of the Russian Healthcare Week 2023, visitors will have the opportunity to test Medgital’s holographic navigation system, try on AR glasses and feel like a surgeon of the future.

Cooperation between two St. Petersburg developers of innovative medical equipment MVS and Medgital began back in 2021, when representatives of the companies met at the award ceremony within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Health Forum.

In December 2023, the integration of holographic navigation system products into the MVS Smart Operating Room will be presented at the Expocenter in Moscow as part of the Healthcare 2023 exhibition.

The Medgital solution makes it possible to visualize DICOM images in the form of a hologram using AR glasses directly in the operating room. The basis of the solution is software that creates an anatomical 3D model based on CT and MRI data of the patient.

The hologram is attached to the patient on the operating table and allows the surgeon to see various tissues, blood vessels, segmented organs, neoplasms from any angle of view, from any distance.

The superimposition of an individual 3D model on the patient in real time allows the surgeon to control the positioning of instruments, the completeness of the removal of tumors and take into account the individual features of the anatomy of patients during the intervention.

VR glasses allow you to display any data and video sources literally in front of the surgeon’s eyes without using monitors, while the surgeon can expand and scale the visualization in the air with his hands, as it suits him.

With the help of the MVS Smart operating room, people in the digital operating room can observe the operation through the eyes of the surgeon, since images from AR glasses are a video source and, among others, are recorded in the archive of the operation.

Andrey Sergeevich Kobets
General director of MVS
The MVS Smart Operating Room is a platform into which various services can be integrated. The architecture of the solution was created by us as an ecosystem that will combine the products of other developers. We can say that we are opening the entrance to the operating room for innovative digital services in support of surgeons. We are pleased to demonstrate integration with the Medgital service. We are confident that in the near future augmented reality will become an indispensable assistant to the surgeon in the operating room
