The Medtech Technopark was opened in February 2022 by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. Today it is a unique platform that unites practicing surgeons, scientific teams of students and development companies promoting know-how in surgery in one place. Such synergy is very important because it facilitates the exchange of information and accelerates the implementation of innovative solutions in healthcare.
Leading medical experts from Moscow and St. Petersburg spoke at the expert session “Surgery of the Future” to share and discuss technological innovations in surgical practice. The experts spoke about their personal experience of implementing new developments and stressed their importance in improving or saving people’s lives and providing high-quality medical care.
The event was opened by Dmitry Nikolaevich Dzukaev, head of the Center for Surgical Care for Patients with Degenerative Diseases and Acute Spinal Injury of the State Medical Institution “State Hospital No. 67 named after L. A. Vorokhobov DZM”. As part of the Moscow Mayor’s grant program, his team has invented a unique way to fix dynamic implants in the spine. Professional athletes have already tried this method on themselves.
Konstantin Borisovich Kolontarev, urologist of the oncourological department at the State Medical University “S.I. Spasokukotsky State Clinical Hospital DZM”, in his speech spoke about robotic surgery, about the possibilities of modern robotic systems and how they bring the surgeon’s work to a new high-quality high-tech level. The team of K.B. Kolontarev, led by D.Y. Pushkar, chief urologist of the Ministry of Health of Russia, implements 6 projects within the framework of the grant program of the Mayor of Moscow and successfully develops new approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of urological and oncourological diseases.
A total of 18 speakers took part in the event. Among them are experts from GBUZ “Clinical hospital No. 31 named after academician G.M. Savelyeva DZM”, St. Petersburg State Medical University “St. Luke’s Clinical Hospital”, GBUZ “State Medical University named after I.V. Davydovsky DZM”, FSBI “GVKG named after N.N. Burdenko” of the Russian Ministry of Defense and others. There were practicing surgeons and students of medical universities in the hall as listeners.
All participants of the expert session were satisfied and noted the need for such events.
