The integration of EMALED luminaires with the MVS OR Smart Operating Room has been successfully certified

The user interface for controlling EMALED lamps on the MVS OR panel allows you to control all the functions of the surgical lamp: on/off, illumination level, color temperature change, changing the diameter of the light spot (focus), selecting the light mode depending on the type of surgical intervention, as well as controlling the built-in video camera in the surgical lamp.

The tests on the part of JSC “EMA Plant” were attended by: plant director Andrey Kaletin, commercial and marketing service, technical specialists. On the part of Medical Visual Systems, Director of the Department of Design and Manufacture of Medical Devices Fedor Grishin, Product Director Grigory Bayburtyan, technical specialists.

After the successful completion of the tests, the parties signed a certificate on the integration of the products of JSC “EMA Plant” and “Medical Visual Systems Ltd.” within the framework of the Program and test Methodology No. 01.EMA.MVS.2022.PM.

Centralized management of medical equipment using touchscreens is one of the most important functions of a modern integrated operating room. In MVS operating rooms, such control screens can be integrated into the walls of cleanroom modules, and/or mounted on brackets or medical consoles in the operating table area.

How does the integration of the EMALED lamp into the MVS OR complex facilitate the work of the operating team?

Surgeons are not distracted by lighting adjustments during the operation. The operating nurse, like any member of the operating team, can adjust the lighting using a single touch control panel:

  • turn on/off surgical lights;
  • select the desired degree of illumination and color temperature;
  • change the diameter of the light spot;
  • with one click, select the desired lighting mode according to the type of surgical intervention:
    “ENDO” mode – for endoscopic examinations and operations (turning off all LEDs with reflectors, while using only LEDs with lenses that give a more diffused beam of light);
  • “NORMAL” mode – normal illumination: in this mode, all LEDs are used (both with reflectors and with lenses, forming the light beam required by the surgeon);
  • The “CENTER” mode is for intracavitary operations, when it is necessary to illuminate the deeply located organs of the patient. The LEDs located in the center of the lighting unit turn on in high brightness mode, and the peripheral LEDs in the petals switch to a lower luminous intensity, which provides a narrower beam of light.

Control of the focus of the video camera built into the EMALED lamp. The video camera located directly above the surgical area is an important video source for the integrated MVS OR operating room. During the operation, video is streaming and recording from this camera synchronously with other video sources located in the operating room (for example, an endoscope video camera, an overview video camera, a patient monitor, an ultrasound machine, a C-arm, etc.). Setting the focus of this camera is important for subsequent purposes of training and analysis of the operation, since in the MVS integrated operating rooms, video recordings of operations are stored in the hospital’s video archive.
